HIDDEN TREASURE HUNTING

For fifteen years YES! Young Enough to Serve has hunted for hidden gems among older adults. Some gifts get buried as years accumulate. People stop believing God still wants to use them, and others around them stop looking for their hidden potential as well.

What special joys await when we discover God’s plan for fruitful living extends well beyond ‘full retirement age’ and past other old-and-gray stop signs.

Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me. Psalm 71:18 (NLT)

But we have this treasure in earthen containers, so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves… 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NASB)

This treasure hunt requires firm resolve, persistence and resources. And we believe the hunt is most effective when all generations participate in unveiling this hidden potential.

In 2021 many of you helped YES! with our very impactful Finishing Strong video series, which continues to ripple throughout North American churches and beyond. We are so thankful! Adults in life’s second half and those leading them have been challenged and equipped to look more deliberately for Christ-centered, later-life serving potential.

To help YES! finish 2022 strong, kickstart 2023 and respond to growing opportunity, our board again set a $40,000 special funding goal. Gratefully, many generous givers moved us just over 100 percent of our target. Special gifts ranged from $20 to $7500, and each gift is deeply appreciated. Thank you, Jesus, for such generous and encouraging givers!
