HUNTING FOR TREASURE

At the end of Matthew 10:8 come Jesus’ familiar words to His disciples: Freely you have received; freely give. (NIV)

These complementary thoughts challenge us as YES! concludes Year Fourteen. Two millennia later, Jesus still wants His disciples to freely receive and freely give. He wants us to be conduits of His gifts and blessings, not selfish hoarders.

Sometimes we’re out of synch with God’s ‘freely receive, freely give’ plan. Many second-half adult leaders give freely of their time and life experience, but upfront ministry resources often come with prohibitive price tags. Without travel and training budgets, they’re often left with minimal instruction to better equip themselves for the task at hand.

YES! would like to add substantially to second-half adult leaders’ freely receive column by producing a high-quality Finishing Strong! video series. With God’s help through your financial partnership, we plan to make these training videos available free of charge.

Each video will offer practical, how-to advice to help individuals, groups and churches tap later-life potential and finish strong. We plan to engage several respected presenters from around the United States.

Yes, life’s later seasons have new sets of challenges, but they can also be filled with Young Enough to Serve joy and fruitfulness.

To kickstart YES! 2022 and this video project, our board set a $40,000 special funding goal. Gratefully, several strategic givers have partnered with our current and former board members to move us beyond 97 percent. $1,075 is still needed to reach this 2021 year-end target. Praise the Lord!
