The Era of Listening: Ward Tanneberg

Ward encourages us to view life as theatre. He is currently starring in Act 3, which he sees as the era of listening—listening to the hopes and dreams of those younger, interpreting the future with lessons of the past and present, and inspiring generations following after us to develop their own stories.

Dr. Ward Tanneberg has a passion for mentoring, and we have been grateful beneficiaries of his care, thoughtful reflection, and friendship over the last decade.

In this podcast Ward shares from his treasure chest of life and pastoral experiences, including approaches that have worked well—and things he might have addressed more intensively had he grasped some of later-life's lessons earlier.

Ward encourages us to "view life as theatre, with our lives as ongoing collections of dramatic work in which we're playing the leading role." He is currently starring in Act 3, which he sees as the era of listening—listening to the hopes and dreams of those younger, interpreting the future with lessons of the past and present, and inspiring generations following after us to develop their own stories.

Redeemed and Loving to Proclaim It! Jerry Parks

Sometimes we hear younger-year stories of redemption and wonder how things worked out in the long run. We love how Jerry and his wife have lived such fruitful lives for Jesus, and live to tell others of His redeeming grace.

The body of Christ is blessed with such diversity and incredible stories of redemption. Jerry Parks, at 74 years of age, is one such individual. As the rebellious son of a preacher, Jerry did some stupid stuff in his young adult years that had him facing the gas chamber---only to be released from San Quentin Prison just a few years later, thanks to the prayers of his dad and the redemptive work of Christ.

Sometimes we hear these younger-year stories of redemption and wonder how things worked out in the long run. We love how Jerry and his wife Demeris have lived such fruitful lives for Jesus, and how they love telling others of His redeeming grace.

Third Calling: Richard & Leona Bergstrom

What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?

The Bergstroms spread the message of hope and purpose to Boomers and others transitioning to life beyond career development and, for many, beyond raising a family. Their book and message are pertinent to anyone wanting to align their lives with His calling.

What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?

Their most recent book, Third Calling, takes readers on an important self-discovery path in this special third season of life: Who are you now? And why are you here now?

The Bergstroms spread the message of hope and purpose to Boomers and others transitioning to life beyond career development and, for many, beyond raising a family. Their book and message are pertinent to anyone wanting to align their lives with His calling.

Amazing Grays, an earlier book written by the Bergstroms, is another great resource for those working with adults in life's second half.

The recently released movie, I Can Only Imagine, is also mentioned (and mutually recommended) in this podcast.

In this podcast we're delighted to introduce you to our friends, Richard & Leona Bergstrom. These co-laboring friends have helped educate and inspire many people, including us, as we do our best to inspire others.
